Devraj Singh is Professor in the Department of Physics and Director, Professor Rajendra Singh (Rajju Bhaiya) Institute of Physical Sciences for Study & Research, Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University, Uttar Pradesh, India. He obtained his DPhil in Science at the University of Allahabad, India, in 2002 on ‘Study of Ultrasonic Attenuation in Condensed Materials’. His research and publication interests include the mechanical, thermophysical ultrasonic characterisation of condensed and advanced materials. He is a fellow of the Ultrasonics Society of India and the life member of a number of scientific societies: India Association of Physics Teachers, Acoustical Society of India, Materials Research Society of India, Metrology Society of India, Indian Physics Association, Ion Beam Society of India. He is the Associate Editor of MAPAN–Journal of Metrology Society of India (Springer) and member of the Editorial Boards of the Journal of Pure & Applied Ultrasonics, Journal of the Acoustical Society of India, ISST Journal of Applied Physics. With 20 years of teaching and research experience, he has to his credit 104 research articles in national and international journals of ultrasonics and materials science and 24 books including “Fundamentals of Optics”, “Applied Optics”, “Modern Physics for Scientist and Engineers” (PHI Learning, Delhi), “Thermal Physics”, “Electronic Devices”, “Ultrasonics and Materials Science for Advanced Technology” (Alpha Science International Ltd, Oxford), “Engineering Physics” (Dhanpat Rai & Co, Delhi).
